Happy Housewarming Prints

This week one of my best friends moved into a new beautiful home with her now fiancéeeee, which was really really exciting! Their house is beautiful and big! So, clearly housewarming gifts equals craft time!! Janet and I silkscreened trees onto tea towels and fabric napkins and we think they are AWESOME so I am sharing these fancy photos of them with you. 

We printed mostly with black textile ink and experimented with red ink on a white centrepiece and a black tea towel which created different effects. The red on black created a sort of burnt orange look, and the red on white turned out much brighter. We only had a few minor setbacks which involved nervously washing out screens and a poorly-printed napkins but all turned out successfully in the end.

Two-toned centrepiece (Janet's idea!) Please ignore the wrinkles. The fabric was really stubborn. We got the grey by accidentally-on-purposely printing the black ink a little too thin. We decided we liked the rustic look in the end anyway:)
